BCQS’s Professional Quantity Surveyors (PQS) are qualified to assist strata corporations in preparing Depreciation Reports, which are now mandatory in BC. A PQS brings specific expertise in cost planning and control for building construction and operation that can help strata corporations manage costs more effectively over the life of the building while limiting exposure to liability.

A Depreciation Report prepared by BCQS can help strata corporations achieve the following:

  • Manage budgets effectively.
  • Plan maintenance to prolong the life of building components, which helps sustain re-sale values.
  • Ensure adequate contingency funds are carried to reduce the potential for large assessments.
  • Strengthen the marketability of units, as well as the ability of potential buyers to secure mortgages and of current owners to obtain refinancing.
